1.1 Jalaram Sweet Centre (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK-based food retailer selling Indian sweets, savouries and snacks through our physical premises and online via www.jalaramsweetcentre.com.

1.3 These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed through our website.
2. Acceptance of Terms
2.1 By placing an order on our website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2.2 If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not place an order.
3. Products
3.1 We sell Indian sweets, savouries and snacks (“Products”).
3.2 Most Products are freshly prepared daily in-store. Some Products are sourced from third-party manufacturers and sold by us.
3.3 All Products are food items and therefore:
- May vary slightly in appearance, colour, size or texture
- Will not always look exactly like website images
- Are produced in batches and subject to natural variation
3.4 Product images are for illustrative purposes only.
4. Food Safety, Allergens & Compliance
4.1 We operate in accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990, the Food Information Regulations 2014, and all applicable food hygiene and safety legislation.
4.2 All Products are prepared, stored and packaged following strict food safety procedures.
4.3 Allergen information is available on request and/or displayed where required by law. Customers are responsible for reviewing allergen information before ordering.
4.4 We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
5. Prices & Payment
5.1 All prices displayed on the website are current at the time of ordering and include VAT where applicable.
5.2 Prices may change at any time; however, once an order is placed and confirmed, the price paid will not change unless we notify you and you agree.
5.3 Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.
6. Order Acceptance & Availability
6.1 All orders are subject to availability and acceptance.
6.2 If any Product is unavailable after you place an order, we will:
- Notify you promptly, and
- Offer you the option to replace the item or receive a full refund for the unavailable Product or the entire order.
6.3 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion (including but not limited to pricing errors, stock shortages, or suspected misuse).
7. Dispatch Cut-Off & Delivery
7.1 Cut-off time is 12:00 midday (UK time).
Orders placed before this time are eligible for same-day dispatch, subject to availability.
7.2 Orders placed after 12:00 midday will be dispatched on the next available dispatch day.
7.3 Delivery operates strictly in accordance with the delivery schedule shown on our Contact / Delivery page.
7.4 Delivery charge is £8.50 for next-day delivery.
7.5 We only offer next-day delivery due to the perishable nature of our Products.
8. Delivery Delays
8.1 While we aim to dispatch orders as advertised, delays may occur due to:
- Stock availability
- High order volumes
- Peak periods such as Diwali and other festivals
- Courier delays beyond our control
8.2 If a delay occurs, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
8.3 If an order cannot be completed within a reasonable timeframe, a full refund will be issued.
9. Courier, Tracking & Customer Responsibility
9.1 Once dispatched, delivery is handled by a third-party courier.
9.2 Customers will receive tracking details by email. It is the customer’s responsibility to:
- Track the order
- Be available to receive delivery during the courier’s allocated time slot
9.3 If the customer is not available to receive the delivery:
- We accept no liability for spoilage or deterioration
- No refunds will be issued
- Responsibility passes entirely to the customer
9.4 Customers are responsible for ensuring Products are promptly refrigerated or stored appropriately upon delivery.
10. Risk & Ownership
10.1 Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon delivery.
10.2 Ownership of Products transfers to the customer once payment has been received and the order has been dispatched.
11. Fragile Products & Breakages
11.1 All Products are fragile food items. Minor breakage, crumbs or cosmetic damage may occur during transit.
11.2 We:
- Pack Products carefully
- Inspect each order before dispatch
- Use appropriate packaging materials
11.3 We are not liable for minor breakages or crumbs caused during courier handling.
11.4 Refunds or replacements will only be considered where damage is substantial and renders the Product inedible.
12. Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
12.1 All Products are perishable food items.
12.2 Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, perishable goods are exempt from the 14-day cancellation and return rights.
12.3 Therefore:
- Products are non-returnable
- Products are non-refundable once dispatched
12.4 Refunds will only be issued where required by law, including where Products are:
- Unsafe
- Unfit for consumption
- Misdescribed
12.5 Any issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photographic evidence.
12.6 Statutory Rights: Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect or limit your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related legislation. Where you are legally entitled to a remedy, such rights shall apply notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms.
13. Limitation of Liability
13.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter which cannot be excluded by law.
13.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price paid for the affected Products.
13.3 We are not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Courier delays
- Customer failure to receive delivery
- Improper storage after delivery
14. Intellectual Property
14.1 All website content, branding, images and text belong to Jalaram Sweet Centre and may not be used without permission.
15. Force Majeure
15.1 We shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, transport disruption or supplier failures.
16. Governing Law
16.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17. Amendments
17.1 We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will apply to orders placed after publication on the website.
